After the crazy turmoil of my Angry Young Man period, I made a very sudden switch to more classic styles of painting. Although eclectic and still heavy with anguish at times, the chaos of previous work has lessened, but I am still exploring different techniques and styles. The people in these paintings are often lonely or in pain, there isn’t much real happiness but they are reaching out, searching for something beyond what they are. The landscapes are sometimes dark, sometimes light, sometimes open, sometimes enclosed.
